PRE-SEASON PRO Senior session plans — coach agreement & disclaimer
Netball Session Plans for Coaches Working with Senior Athletes Aged 15+
This agreement is effective upon purchase and applies worldwide. Last updated: April 2026.

These plans are purchased by and licensed to the coach or club — not the athlete.

By purchasing these plans you confirm you are the coach, club administrator, or an authorised representative of the organisation delivering these sessions. You accept full responsibility for the safe and appropriate delivery of all content. Because these plans are designed for athletes aged 15 and over, your cohort may include both minors (aged 15–17) and adults (aged 18+). Different safeguarding obligations apply to each group and both are addressed in this agreement.

Mixed-cohort notice

Senior netball squads commonly include athletes across the 15–18+ age range. The presence of even one athlete under 18 in your group triggers the full suite of child safeguarding obligations detailed in this agreement — regardless of the majority age of the cohort. You must know the age of every athlete in your care and apply the appropriate protections accordingly.

1. Scope & intended use

These session plans are designed as a structured coaching resource for qualified or experienced netball coaches working with senior athletes aged 15 and over. They provide age-appropriate physical preparation, strength and conditioning, and skill-based content suitable for in-season and pre-season training environments at senior club and representative level.

These plans are intended to support — not replace — the professional judgement of the delivering coach. They assume the coach holds the relevant coaching qualifications, safeguarding accreditation, and first aid training required by their national governing body, sport organisation, or employer.

These plans are not suitable for delivery by unqualified individuals, nor for use as a self-directed training resource by athletes without coach supervision.

2. Safeguarding — athletes under 18 (minors)

For any athlete in your cohort who is under 18 years of age, the full suite of child safeguarding obligations applies. You confirm that you and all adults delivering or assisting with these sessions:
* Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (or equivalent background screening required in your country, state, or jurisdiction)
* Have completed child protection or safeguarding training as required by your national governing body, sport organisation, or employer
* Comply with the child safeguarding policies of your club, association, or organisation
* Have obtained written parental or guardian consent for each athlete under 18 to participate in physical training
* Ensure athletes under 18 are never left alone with a single adult in a private or unsupervised setting (two-adult rule or open environment policy)
* Have a clear reporting pathway for any safeguarding concerns in accordance with your organisation's child protection policy

Where your squad includes athletes aged 15–17 training alongside adults, you must ensure that:
* The training environment is appropriate and safe for minors at all times
* Communication with athletes under 18 occurs through appropriate channels (preferably group communication including parents/guardians, not direct one-to-one private messaging)
* Any photography or video of sessions involving minors is only taken with appropriate consent and in compliance with your organisation's media policy
* Load, intensity, and exercise selection accounts for the physical development stage of younger athletes in the group, even where the overall program is pitched at a senior level

3. Safeguarding — adult athletes (18+)

Adult athletes aged 18 and over are entitled to be treated with dignity and respect and to train in an environment free from abuse, harassment, discrimination, and harm. As the delivering coach you confirm that:
* You are aware of and comply with your organisation's adult safeguarding policy, where one exists
* You understand that some adult athletes may be at risk due to disability, mental health conditions, or other vulnerability factors, and that safeguarding obligations can extend to adults in these circumstances
* You will not engage in any behaviour that could be considered coercive, discriminatory, psychologically harmful, or sexually inappropriate toward any adult athlete in your care
* You have a clear reporting pathway for any safeguarding concerns involving adult athletes in accordance with your organisation's policies and any applicable mandatory reporting obligations in your jurisdiction

Adult athletes retain the right to make informed decisions about their participation, including the right to modify or decline exercises. Coaches are expected to create an environment where athletes feel safe to raise concerns, report discomfort, or withdraw from activity without consequence.

4. Coach responsibilities

By purchasing and using these session plans, you accept full responsibility for the following regardless of the age mix of your cohort:

Athlete readiness & health screening
Assessing the physical readiness of each athlete before commencing sessions. Collecting and maintaining up-to-date medical information and emergency contacts. Ensuring athletes with injuries, medical conditions, or contraindications are referred to a qualified health professional for clearance before participating.

Session modification & individual needs
Modifying, scaling, or substituting exercises where appropriate for individual athletes. These plans are a framework — you are responsible for adapting content to the specific athletes in front of you, including accounting for any athletes aged 15–17 whose physical development may differ from older members of the group.

Technique, supervision & load management
Ensuring all exercises are performed with correct technique and appropriate loading. Actively monitoring athlete response to training and adjusting intensity, volume, or load based on athlete readiness and wellbeing. Athletes under 18 may require additional load management consideration given active skeletal development.

Environment & equipment safety
Ensuring the training environment is safe, appropriate, and free from hazards before commencing any session. Ensuring all equipment is fit for purpose and used correctly. Maintaining appropriate supervision ratios for the size and age composition of the group.

5. Parental & guardian consent (athletes under 18)
For any athlete aged 15–17 participating in sessions delivered using these plans, you confirm that you have obtained — or that your club or organisation has obtained — written consent from the parent or legal guardian of each athlete, covering:
* Participation in physical training and conditioning alongside adult athletes where applicable
* Disclosure of any relevant medical conditions, injuries, or medications
* Emergency medical treatment in the event of injury or illness during a session
* Any photography or video content captured during training sessions

6. Medical disclaimer
The content in these session plans is of a general nature and is not intended to constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. These plans have been designed by a qualified personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach with the intent to support coaches in delivering safe, effective, age-appropriate training.

These sessions assume athletes have no existing injuries, medical conditions, or contraindications that would affect safe participation, including but not limited to pregnancy, postpartum status, or ongoing rehabilitation. Athletes with any such conditions should be referred to a qualified health professional for clearance before participating. You are responsible for ensuring this occurs.

Pre-Season Pro does not provide medical advice and recommends that athletes with injuries or medical considerations seek clearance from a qualified health professional before participating in these sessions.
